Parent Drop-off and Pick-up - due to construction

MSHS: Due to construction on US25 and traffic concerns, we along with the Berea Police Department, have decided upon a new dismissal routine from the front parking lot and the light at Rash Road.  Upon leaving campus, all vehicles will be directed to turn right onto Glades Road.  You may then turn onto Rash or go to the end and turn onto Hwy 595.  

New Superintendent Named David Gilliam

The Madison County Board of Education voted to hire David Gilliam as the next superintendent of Madison County Schools. Mr. Gilliam has served in Madison County Schools since 1992, most recently as Assistant Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer. Mr. Gilliam’s career in education began in 1992 when he became a teacher and coach at Madison Southern High School. Mr. Gilliam served Madison Southern High School as a coach and teacher from 1992 to 2003; as athletic director from 2003 to 2007; and as principal from 2007 to 2013 before moving to the district office as CAO and assistant superintendent.

2018-2019 Back to School Information

Although the start of the school year is still more than a month away, it is time to start planning for the beginning of the school year! Click BACK TO SCHOOL INFO for back to school information for each school.

2018-2019 school year calendar set by Board

The Madison County Board of Education voted to approve the calendar for the 2018-2019 school year. The school year will begin for students on Wednesday, Aug. 22, and end on Friday, May 24. The calendar includes a three-day fall break in October as well as a full week of spring break the first week of April. The calendar can be viewed HERE.

Board approves proposed rezoning plan

Madison County Schools Board of Education approved the proposed rezoning plan to take effect in August 2018. Assistant Superintendent Randy Neeley presented the plan and then answered questions from the Board members. The plan was approved with a vote of 4-1 with the opposing vote coming from Board Member Mary Renfro. The proposed plan includes the new zone for Boonesborough Elementary and outlines the changes for other elementary schools as well as the shift for middle schools.

 

Schools affected include: Boonesborough Elementary, White Hall Elementary, Glenn Marshall Elementary, Kit Carson Elementary, Daniel Boone Elementary, and Kirksville Elementary; as well as B. Michael Caudill Middle, Madison Middle, and Clark-Moores Middle.
