ANNOUNCEMENT  

FAFSA-The FAFSA opened on October 1st.  There will be one more Financial Aid night at MCHS to help parents complete the FAFSA.  This is scheduled for November 13th from 5:00-7:30 pm in the Library.  Also check out the KHEAA texting service, which allows students, family members, professionals and others to receive regular (twice a month) reminders and updates regarding FAFSA and other important college access information. This is a two-way texting service, so subscribers can text back with questions and receive an individual response. To sign up, text the word OUTREACH to (800) 928-8926.

University of Kentucky Open House for Seniors:

These are great events to tour campus, meet with different academic colleges including the Lewis Honors College, and learn about financial aid/scholarships

University of Kentucky-An admissions rep from the University of Kentucky will be visiting MCHS on Thursday, October 18 during studio times in the Lecture Lab. Seniors, please sign up with Mrs. Sharp in the Guidance Office if you are interested in learning more about the University of Kentucky.

Juniors and Seniors: The Youth Ambassador Leadership Conference applications are now available in the Guidance office. The conference will be a one day leadership conference in early 2019 consisting of participation with Commonwealth leaders from across the state. Applications and information are available in Guidance or on Andy Barr's website - www.barr.house.gov. Applications are due to Congressman Barr's Office no later than December 3, 2018.

 

Juniors taking the PSAT: PSAT Prep Live starts September 29 - Students can get free, live online prep for the PSAT from Kaplan experts the weekends of September 29 and October 6. WKU Head for the Hill:  This is a free, open house event that offers a comprehensive look at WKU's outstanding academic offereings, student activities, and beautiful campus.  Sessions are offered to provide valuable information about life on The Hill, and an exciting expo allows students and their families the opportunity to personally connect with representatives from different academic departments, student services, housing, financial aid, and more.  The 2018-2019 dates are September 22nd, October 20th, and November 9th.  Register online at www.wku.edu/admissions.

Tribe Time Studios at MCHS


For the 2017-18 school year Madison Central will have a new bell schedule which will include scheduled studio time for each student. Students will take 6 core classes (just as they always have) and then one period will be half lunch/ half studio.
