AP Exams: 

The deadline to register for an Advanced Placement exam is approaching quickly.  Registration ends Friday, February 23, 2018 at midnight.  Remember to go to www.totalregistration.net/AP/182278 to register.


April 14th ACT: The deadline to register for the April ACT is March 9th. Go to www.act.org to register. The April ACT is NOT administered at Madison Central, but students can choose to take the test at EKU.


8th grade Scheduling Update:

MCHS counselors will collect the 8th grade schedule requests on the following dates/times:
February 20th-9:30 am CMMS
February 21st-9:30 am BMC
February 21st-1:00 pm MMS


The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test) will be administered on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.  Any sophomore, junior, or senior interested in taking this test shoiuld register in the Guidance Office with Mrs. Sharp.  The last day to register is Tuesday, February 20, 2018.  There is no fee for this test.


ZAPS ACT Test-Prep Seminar:  This seminar will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 9:00am-3:00pm at Madison Central High School.  To register, go to www.doorwaytocollege.com or call 877-927-8378.  The fee for the seminar is $79.99.


Central Kentucky Job Fair:  On April 10, 2018 there will be a job fair at Berea Church of God (189 Rash Road, Berea).  The job fair will be from 10:00 am - 6:30 pm.


Class 101 ACT Prep for Juniors:  This ACT Prep is specifically to prepare juniors for the March 20th state ACT exam.  Classes are offered on Mondays in Richmond beginning on February 19, 2018.  The cost for the 4-week class is $350 per student.  You can register by contacting Kim Gardner at 859-779-2395 or kgardner@myclass101.com.  The deadline to register is Friday, February 16th.

Juniors:  Clark Energy is awarding four High School Juniors from Kentucky an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC in June 2018.   The applicant’s parents or legal guardians must have an active residential or business account with Clark Energy.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office at Madison Central High School.  The deadline to submit an application is February 23, 2018.


Murray State University Commonwealth Honors Academy:  This selective program is for current juniors.  The Academy is a 3-week interdisciplinary living-learning environment at Murray State.  Upon the completion of the Academy, students will:

  • receive 6 hours of university studies credit
  • have the opportunity to take an additional 6 hours of tuition-free university courses at MSU during their senior year
  • be awarded a 4-year $2000.00 renewable housing/leadership scholarship to attend MSU

In order to qualify for the Commonwealth Honors Academy, students must have:

  • completed the junior year of high school
  • a composite ACT of 25 and a 3.5 GPA
  • other credentials, such as community involvement, class rank, and teacher recommendations

Applications for the 2018 academy can now be downloaded from the website at www.murraystate.edu/cha.  The application deadline is March 1, 2018.  Students will be notified in early April.

Tribe Time Studios at MCHS

For the 2017-18 school year Madison Central will have a new bell schedule which will include scheduled studio time for each student. Students will take 6 core classes (just as they always have) and then one period will be half lunch/ half studio.
