YSC Girls Night Out

The YSC is offering a Girls Night out for female students and their significant female role model to be held on May 2nd 5:00-7:30 at the Madison County Extension Office.  Dinner will be provided. We will have art/crafts, guest speakers from EKU and FBI Special Victim unit along with a basic self defense class.  This event is free to all that attend.  Sign up at YSC or call 387-3836 no later than April 30th.

2017 Madison County Technology Extravaganza Student with certificate from tech night.

April 20, 2017, students K-12 were recognized for their skills in the use of technology. The Technology Extravaganza is open to all Madison County students and projects can be completed in school and at home. MCS LPC to convene for 2nd meeting

The Madison County Schools Local Planning Committee will convene for their second meeting and second public forum. The meeting will be Monday, May 1, 2017, at 5 p.m. local time at the Madison County Board of Education (301 Highland Park Drive, Richmond). The purpose of the meeting will be to consider amending the current District Facilities Plan (DFP). At the conclusion of the meeting there will be a public forum.

K-Prep Testing Details

Please refrain from scheduling appointments for students during K-Prep Testing.  If you must schedule an appointment, please use the following schedules so your student does not miss any part of the test.

Reminder, if a student has started a portion of the test and gets checked out, they will receive a zero for that portion.  It will not be able to be made it up.

2017 - 18 SBDM Parent Representative Nomination Form

We are currently accepting nominations for a parent representative to serve one year on the School Based Decision Making Council at B. Michael Caudill Middle School.  Any parent with a child attending B. Michael Caudill Middle School during the 2017-2018 is eligible to run for SBDM.  SBDM representatives are required to attend a training session (six-hours for a new member/ three-hours for an experienced member) and monthly meetings.

 

Nominations will begin Monday, April 24 and will be open through Sunday, May 7.  If you would like to nominate a candidate for SBDM, please complete this form and return it to school by May 7, 2017 or email it to jennie.johnson@madison.kyschools.us.  The parent nomination form can be picked up in the front office at BMCMS or downloaded from BMCMS’s website.

 

Elections will be held at B. Michael Caudill Middle School on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm.

Our 8th grade recognition program will Tuesday, May 16th at the First Baptist Church on the by-pass.  The program will begin at 6 PM.

B. 2017-2018 school year calendar set by the Board

The Madison County Board of Education voted to approve the calendar for the 2017-2018 school year. The school year will begin for students on Wednesday, Aug. 16, and end on Friday, May 25. The calendar includes a three-day fall break the first week of October as well as a full week of spring break the first week of April. The calendar can be viewed HERE.

8th Grade Recognition

Our 8th grade recognition program will be Tuesday, May 16th at First Baptist Church. The program will begin at 6 pm.

May Testing Dates - please read

Parents we are quickly approaching KPREP testing, May 2nd-8th.   If you have doctor or dentist appointments or anything that would prevent your child from attending school during these dates please try to reschedule.  It is very important that your child be at school for the KY State Assessment.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation during KPREP.
