Renaissance Program

 Panther Parents,

The Renaissance Program is a nationwide program that inspires the acceptance and excitement for academics that's traditionally reserved for athletics. Through Renaissance, Madison Middle aims to increase student performance and teacher enthusiasm, and to raise the level of community participation in schools.

All students and teachers are encouraged to participate in Renaissance to help improve academic performance. Students benefit from the program because it raises the profile of academics and makes it cool to do well in school. Teachers often cite Renaissance as the source of renewed enthusiasm about their profession.

Each student is issued a Renaissance ID card at the beginning of the school year. At the end of each nine weeks their card will be ‘punched' indicating their status for the next nine weeks. Students are awarded the chance for prizes at Renaissance Rallies based on their performance each nine weeks.

Gold Status – All A's and no disciplinary referrals

Purple Status – All A's & B's and no disciplinary referrals

White Status – All Passing Grades and no disciplinary referrals

High Five Status – Overall Grades raised at least 1 percentage point and no disciplinary referrals

At Madison Middle we are dedicated to doing whatever it takes to help teachers, students and our school community build and express pride. Through Renaissance we hope to raise the level of Panther Pride in every subject.

We invite you to come and observe a Panther Renaissance Rally. A rally will take place at the end of each nine weeks grading period. Once report cards go home the date and time of the rally will be announced. Come watch as students are awarded laptop computers, DVD players, digital cameras, ipods and a host of other prizes for their academic achievements.

Our students need to know that education can be their Panther Pass to success.   GO PANTHERS!

Thank you,

Madison Middle School Renaissance Committee
