Youth Wrestling Team wins State Championship Group photo of the youth wrestling team that won the state championship.

Months of training and hard work paid off for the Madison County Youth Wrestling Club. The determination and sacrifice of each wreslter helped the team win it’s first state title at the Kentucky State Wrestling Association State Championship in Division III last weekend. Madison County scored 88 points to win the title, outpacing its nearest competitor by 3.5 points. Throughout the state, 59 teams were represented, with over 1100 wrestlers participating in the tournament.  Madison County sent 15 participants to the tournament, while 49 wrestled throughout the season. Five Madison County wrestlers reached the finals and two won state titles for the Madison County Youth wrestling club at the state tournament in Louisville on February 5. 

Change in Kindergarten Entry Age and Addition of Early Admission kids skipping to kindergarten

Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, students must turn five (5) on or before August 1 for admission to kindergarten. Previously, students were required to turn 5 on or before October 1 for admission. The change is reflected in KRS 158.030. Madison County Schools will be hosting kindergarten registration at all four kindergarten academies - Madison Kindergarten Academy, Shannon Johnson Elementary, Kingston Elementary, and Waco Elementary. Kingston Food Drive Food Drive

Kingston Elementary School will be hosting a food drive for those in need during the holidays. Next week, December 5-9, students can bring in non-perishable food items every day. The grade that has the most donations to the FRC will receive a special prize. Items will be donated to the FRC which will then give to Kingston families in need. 

Kingston Fuel Up to Play 60 Kick-Off Fuel Up to Play 60 Logo

Many Kingston students and their families attended the Fuel Up to Play 60 Kick-Off on Monday, September 12, 2016. Students received healthy snacks and were invited to bring their bikes to have some after school fun.

The Family Resource Center is very excited to be introducing a new program for the 2016-2017 school year.  Our school will be a Watch D.O.G.S.
