In appreciation for their participation in the Community Work Transition Program of Madison County, we are honored to spotlight Lee's Famous Recipe of Berea as our featured Business Partner of the Month.
Lee’s Famous Recipe of Berea is owned by Steve and Phyllis Carter. Although the restaurant has been in business for the past 32 years, the Carters purchased it in 1986 and have been striving to provide the “best friend chicken and southern comfort food” since then.
Lee’s of Berea has been a long-time supporter of Madison County Schools, but officially partnered with the Community Work Transition Program 5 months ago to give back to the community and offer real opportunities for learning outside the classroom. The Carters say they hope students in the CWTP learns skills that will allow them to develop great work habits and feel like positive contributors of a team. They believe “Hands on learning means a lot!”
Steve and Phyllis Carter are not MCS alumni, but all of their children either attend or have attended school in the district.
If you know of anyone who may be interested in providing opportunities for students of Madison County, please contact Lynn Petrey, Employment Specialist Madison County Schools at Jerry.email@example.com.
