The Madison Southern FFA Land Judging Team placed second in regional competition on October 1 at University of Kentucky’s Spindle Top Farm. The Bluegrass Regional contest, hosted by Locust Trace Agriscience Center, is a contest that incorporates the knowledge of soil slope, structure, texture, capability class and conservational measures. Contestants are asked to score four soil sites and place those sites in a soil capability class and make recommendations for conservational measures.
Team members include from left to right, Jessica Fryer, Kristen Foster, Ty Ritchie and Drew Wright. Drew Wright was recognized as 2nd High Individual for the region with a score of 346 out of 356 points.
The Madison Southern Team will compete in the Kentucky State FFA Land Judging Contest in Hardinsburg on November 7 at the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center.
