MCS to be represented at state RCX/NXT Robotics Competition

On March 2, three Madison County Schools competed in the Georgetown College Regional RCX/NXT Robotic Competition. All three schools qualified for the State Championship to be held at Rupp Arena on March 28. Those schools include B. Michael Caudill Middle School, Madison Southern High School and Madison Central High School.

B. Michael Caudill Middle School’s Sierra Wiggins and Hannah Tanner came in 3rd Place in the Middle School Division, qualifying for the State Championship. Steve Marionneaux is the coach.

Madison Southern High School’s Seth Brock, Travis Conley, Conner Hatfield and Chris Everitt came in 1st Place in the High School Division, qualifying for the State Championship. Kendall Gadd is the coach.

Madison Central High School’s John Felicicchia, Thomas Farmer, and Noena  Zerna came in 2nd Place in the High School Division, qualifying for the State Championship.  Pam Thomas is the coach.

A special thank you to Steve Marionneaux for driving to Georgetown both Friday night and Saturday morning to set up. In addition, Coach Marionneaux is the head judge for the elementary competition each year. A special thank you to Melinda Dolen from Madison Southern for driving to Georgetown on Saturday to take pictures of the event.
