MSHS Principal receives HERO Award

The Madison County Youth in Action Team presented David Gilliam, Principal of MAdison Southern High School, with a 2013 HERO award. Gilliam has supported YIA's mission by implementing programs designed to educate students about the dangers associated with drug and alcohol abuse and by enforcing a zero drug and alcohol policy at MSHS. His commitment and dedication has helped ensure a safe learning environment while promoting the reduction of substance abuse among youth. An incredible leader, David Gilliam exemplifies the strong values and traditions of "Eagle Excellence". 

Youth in Action volunteer and Madison Southern student, Tia Rauscher, presented the award to Mr. Gilliam during an awards program on May 20, 2013.More HERO awards will be awarded to the community in the next few weeks. Funding for the program was provided by a EUDL grant.
