2013 Unbridled Learning results are in: District designated "Proficient"

Madison County Schools is pleased to announce that the district has increased its scores enough to be designated as a "Proficient" district. Proficient means the district ranks in the 70th percentile or above among all 173 Kentucky districts. The district is also pleased to announce that Silver Creek Elementary is listed as a "Distinguished-Progressing" school, which means Silver Creek ranks in the 90th percentile of Kentucky's elementary schools.

MCS has two "Proficient-Progressing" schools: Kirksville Elementary and Madison Central High School; one "Proficient" school: White Hall Elementary; six "Needs Improvement-Progressing" schools: Clark-Moores Middle, Glenn Marshall Elementary, Kingston Elementary, Madison Southern High, Farristown Middle, and Foley Middle; and seven "Needs Improvement" schools: B. Michael Caudill Middle, Daniel Boone Elementary, Kit Carson Elementary, Madison Middle, Mayfield Elementary, Shannon Johnson Elementary, and Waco Elementary. Schools and districts that are "Progressing" have met their annual measurable objective.

In 2012, Madison County Schools had four "Proficient" schools and 13 "Needs Improvement" schools. The district was designated "Needs Improvement" as well.
