Each year on the first day of school, we anticipate a few bumps in the road when it comes to transportation. Yesterday, we certainly had some issues. The volume of traffic at Madison Kindergarten Academy was much more than expected and caused our shuttle buses to be unable to get into the school to pick up students. The shuttles were finally loaded and on their way a little after 4 p.m., but that made the buses for Kit Carson, Glenn Marshall, and White Hall elementaries very late in loading and delivering students home. We spent several hours last night reconstructing the dismissal plan for Madison Kindergarten Academy.

Today, the plan has some tweeks that we are certain will keep traffic moving and eliminate the delays we experienced yesterday.
- Buses will be using Logan Avenue to access the school's campus.
- Parent pick up vehicles will be using Bond Stret to access the school's campus. Parent pick up vehicles will not be permitted to turn right onto Bond Street from Logan Avenue.
- Students riding the shuttle buses will be equipped with a tag that gives information about the shuttle bus number and the bus number to that student's final destination.
We apologize for the confusion and delays of the first day of school and we anticipate a much smoother afternoon today! We appreciate your understanding and your patience. And we look forward to your continued cooperation.
Happy 2nd Day of School!
