MSHS band hosts guests

The Madison Southern High School band had a couple guests visit and talk to percussion students. Scott Slocum, District Manager of the Yamaha Corporation of America, Band and Orchestra Division and Troy Wollwage, National Marketing Manager of Percussion of the Yamaha Corporation of America, Band and Orchestra Division, stopped by while passing through the area.

The two watched the Percussion Class performing selections from our 2012 marching band production “Mourning in the Afternoon” and discussed various aspects of music and percussion in the current workplace as well as percussion performance techniques. The MSHS Percussion students are under the direction of Director of Bands David Ratliff, Associate Director of Bands Matthew J. Skaggs and Percussion Instructor Aaron Campbell.
