White Hall Elementary Hosts Mock Presidential Debate and Election

The debate was well moderated and each candidate, along with their running mate for vice-president, communicated to the crowd the issues facing the nation and how each candidate would resolve them. After the debate, students in grades three, four, and five cast their vote for the candidate of their choice. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan became the newly-elected President and Vice-President of the United States by a vote of 230–109.

A spirited debate and election took place Monday, Nov. 5, at White Hall Elementary between the Republican and Democratic candidates for President and Vice-President of the United States. Both party representatives were given time to state their agendas and what each would do to move America forward.

This mock election was orchestrated by Mrs. Kim Collins, 5th Grade Social Studies Teacher at White Hall Elementary, and her 5th grade students. The mock election’s roles were portrayed by:

Carson Brown and Amelia Smitha - Mitt and  Ann Romney
Dawson Miller and Cady Gordon - Joe  and Jill Biden
Brennan Ashley and Mattie Jo Neeley - Paul and Janna Ryan
