Months of training and hard work paid off for the Madison County Youth Wrestling Club. The determination and sacrifice of each wreslter helped the team win it’s first state title at the Kentucky State Wrestling Association State Championship in Division III last weekend. Madison County scored 88 points to win the title, outpacing its nearest competitor by 3.5 points. Throughout the state, 59 teams were represented, with over 1100 wrestlers participating in the tournament. Madison County sent 15 participants to the tournament, while 49 wrestled throughout the season. Five Madison County wrestlers reached the finals and two won state titles for the Madison County Youth wrestling club at the state tournament in Louisville on February 5.
Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, students must turn five (5) on or before August 1 for admission to kindergarten. Previously, students were required to turn 5 on or before October 1 for admission. The change is reflected in KRS 158.030. Madison County Schools will be hosting kindergarten registration at all four kindergarten academies - Madison Kindergarten Academy, Shannon Johnson Elementary, Kingston Elementary, and Waco Elementary. Kingston Elementary School will be hosting a food drive for those in need during the holidays. Next week, December 5-9, students can bring in non-perishable food items every day. The grade that has the most donations to the FRC will receive a special prize. Items will be donated to the FRC which will then give to Kingston families in need.

The Family Resource Center is very excited to be introducing a new program for the 2016-2017 school year. Our school will be a Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of great students) site.
