Parents of Seniors: We Need You!

Project Graduation 2015 will have its first meeting on Tuesday, September 30 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Lecture Lab.  This meeting will involve officer elections and fundraising ideas.  Project Graduation provides seniors with a safe and fun-filled night after the Graduation Ceremony.  Your participation will make Project Grad 2015 a great success.  All parents of seniors are encouraged to attend!

Senior Panoramic Picture

On Monday, October 6, Seniors will take their panoramic picture on the practice football field (weather permitting) at 8:15 AM.   Seniors should not bring their belongings with them.

Panoramic picture packages are $25 (1 large "formal" picture) or $40 (3 pictures - "formal", "fun" and in the shape of a 15).  They must have their money the next day during lunch.  The Goldbeck Company does not make return trips.

STUDENTS: Do You Know Your Grades?

Term 1 Ends Friday, October 10th.  Progress Reports will be sent home with students on Friday, October 17th

Army Representatives at MCHS

Representatives from the US Army will be in the MCHS cafeteria during lunch on Wednesday, October 1, to meet with interested students.

Recycle Ink Cartridges to Help MCHS STLP

Do you own a printer and throw away your ink cartridges? Now there is a better solution. Bring your empty ink cartridges to Madison Central High School and help out the STLP Club. By doing this you will get a chance to recycle your ink cartridges and will be doing a well appreciated favor by helping the STLP Club raise money for new robotics kits. It doesn’t cost anything to donate your ink cartridges but will help the STLP immensely. Thank you for helping us out!

School picture and senior re-take day is Friday, October 10.  Re-take day for underclassmen is Tuesday, November 11.

2015 Governor's Scholars Program Meeting

Any junior interested in applying for the 2015 Governor’s Scholars Program needs to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 7:30 am in the Lecture Hall.  Interested students should also make plans to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 8:05 in the library.  The cost is $20 and may be paid in the Finance Office at any time. 

EKU Representative at MCHS

A representative from EKU will be in the MCHS cafeteria on several different dates to meet with interested students during lunch.  Dates include September 9, October 7, November 18, December 2.

Conversation in the Kitchen

Conversation in the Kitchen is a Lexington driven event to promote conversations and relationship enrichment within teenager’s families across Central Kentucky.
This one-night event, on February 28, 2015, at Fasig-Tipton Farm, has several behind-the-scenes activities leading up to the 2015 Conversation in the Kitchen grand finale, hosting 300+ people across Central Kentucky. We will provide an evening of entertainment to include a cooking contest between teenage finalists from Central Kentucky public middle and high schools, whose winning essays qualify them to enter the middle or high school cooking contests.

2015 Youth Salute

The Central Kentucky Council on Youth leadership is accepting applications for the 2015 Youth Salute.  To qualify, you must be a high school junior, have a cumulative 3.0 GPA and have held two leadership roles.  Pick up your applications in the guidance office and return them to Mrs. Tipton no later than October 3.

5 schools eligible for Community Eligibility Program

Madison County Board of Education announced today the district has five (5) schools that are eligible for and will be implementing the Community Eligibility Program for the 2014-2015 school year.

The CEP eligible schools include:

  • Daniel Boone Elementary
  • Kirksville Elementary
  • Waco Elementary
  • Madison Kindergarten Academy
  • Bellevue Learning Center, including Madison Day Treatment and Preschool

A representative from Northern KY University will be in the MCHS cafeteria on Tuesday, November 11 during lunch to meet with interested students.
