WendysHeisman.com is the website where students can apply for the Wendy’s High School Heisman award by October 3, 2014. The first 25,000 completed applications will receive a $10.00 Wendy’s gift card. 

MCHS 2015 Softball Meeting

Parents of girls who are interested in playing softball in spring 2015 must attend a meeting on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the MCHS lecture lab.

Last Day for Schedule Changes is August 22!

The last day for students at MCHS to make schedule changes is this Friday, August 22, 2014.  No changes will be made after this date.

3rd Annual Tracks for Packs event helps support Madison Backpack Program

The 3rd annual Tracks for Packs 5K is coming up Saturday, Sept. 6. The event benefits the Madison Backpack Program, which is facilitated by God’s Outreach Food Pantry and Madison County Schools. You are welcome to register online or by printing a registration form at www.tracksforpacks.org. In the past two years, this event has raised more than $30,000 to help support the Madison Backpack Program. The program sends home more than 1,400 backpacks of food on the weekends with children of all ages across the district.

MCHS Season Sports Pass

Season sports passes will be on sale for parents and students during freshman orientation on Thursday, August 7. The cost of a pass is $50 and covers admission to all regular season home sporting events for the 2014-15 school year. With the purchase of a pass, the holder will receive a 25% discount at O’Charley’s for the entire year.

Sports passes may also be purchased in the finance office throughout the school year.

Volunteer Confidentiality Training schedule available

Back to school time also means it is time for parents, grandparents, and other community members to attend volunteer confidentiality training. Any person who is interested in volunteering in a school, chaperoning a class field trip, or helping in any other way will need to complete the mandatory volunteer confidentiality training. If the training is not completed, that person will be unable to volunteer in any way.

New Chief Operations Officer named

Madison County Schools named Randy Neeley as chief operations officer. Neeley will begin his role on July 1, 2014. Neeley has served Madison County Schools as director of pupil personnel since 2010. Prior to serving as DPP, he served Madison County Schools as principal of White Hall Elementary, assistant principal of Madison Middle, and health teacher at Madison Middle. Neeley’s career in education began in 1994 and he has served his entire career in Madison County Schools.
