Seniors: Sign Up for Prom Fashion Show

Seniors who wish to participate in the Prom Fashion Show next semester may sign up in the library during the week of Tuesday, December 2 thru Friday December 5. The students signing up must adhere to the same school policies for attending dances...see page 27 in student handbook.

Gatton Academy of Math & Sci

The Gatton Academy of Math and Science is hosting an information night at the Central Library (address below) in Lexington on December 11 from 6-8 pm.  This is a residential high school for students interesting in pursuing advanced careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.  Students take all coursework through Western Kentucky University and live on campus.  Tuition, fees, room & board are all free to students who qualify for the program.

EKU Now Registration for Spring '15

EKU NOW REGISTRATION FOR THE SPRING  2015 SEMESTER WILL TAKE PLACE ON Thursday, December 4, 2014 FROM 8 AM TO 11 AM  IN LAB A. Students planning to take an EKU NOW class  MUST  be there that day to get registered for next semester.  If you are currently in a dual credit class here at MCHS, check with your teacher to see what time your class is coming to the lab to complete this process.

MCHS Mock Trial Tryouts

Do you enjoy arguing? Acting? Public speaking? Can you picture yourself in scenes from Law and Order, Suits, and The Good Wife?  

Then Mock Trial maybe for you!! Come try out for one of the 2 teams that will be competing at state in March.

MCHS Mock Trial Team will be holding tryouts on Thursday, November 20, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Board of Education on South Keeneland Dr.

Attention Sophomores

Attention sophomores: You are invited to apply for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar.  This leadership seminar will be held June 11 – 14 at EKU.  This is a great experience to help build your leadership skills and your resume.  Applications are available in the guidance office and are due to Mrs. Tipton no later than Friday, November 21.

Selection criteria include:

  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Critical and creative thinking
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Courage to speak out for one’s beliefs
  • Participation in community service activities
MCHS Project Grad Craft Fair

MCHS Project Graduation will host a craft fair on Saturday, November 22, from 7:00 AM-4:00 PM in the MCHS cafeteria with over 20 vendors set up.  Support MCHS PG 2014!

Project Graduation Event

Senior Parents:   Project Graduation will host a Dinner/Dance/Silent Auction event on Thursday, December 4.  Tickets are available for $25 each.  There will be great food and music along with a silent auction. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets may contact Sherri Hendrix at 859-358-9171.

AP Exam Registration Information

Taking an Advanced Placement exam is an important part of any AP course. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.
