MCHS Prom Fashion Show

The MCHS prom fashion show will be held on Friday, March 13 at 1:00 PM in auditorium. This event is used to raise money for Project Graduation 2015. Students will be required to show the tickets they purchased to attend.

Key Club Parent Meeting

There will be an informational meeting for the parents of the nine students who are attending the Key Club District Convention in Lexington from March 20-22. The meeting will take place in room 3103 at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 2. If parents cannot attend information will be sent home with their student.

Public forum to discuss the district facilities plan is scheduled

On behalf of the Madison Board of Education, the Madison County Local Planning Committee will convene its 8th meeting and 3rd public forum to continue development of the District Facilities Plan. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. local time Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Glenn Marshall Elementary School Media Center. This public forum will be for the purpose of discussing items concerning the District Facilities Plan. The public forum will be followed by a meeting to consider items discussed in the forum and the review of the plan by the Kentucky Department of Education.

Next confidentiality training location changed

The next confidentiality training is scheduled for Monday, March 2, at 6 p.m. The location has been changed to Farristown Middle School.

Wrestlers to represent MCS at State Competition

Madison County Schools will be well represented at the state wrestling competition this year. Congratulations and Best Wishes to Sam Kauer, Justus Williams, and Joey Scribano from Madison Southern High; and Jonathon Gadd, Ryan McManus, Chris Morrow, Will Keeney, Aaron Flenner, and Corban Couch from Madison Central High.

Congratulations to MCHS Band Director Brent Barton

At the recently concluded Kentucky Music Educators Association State In-Service Conference, Mr. H. Brent Barton was named as the Phi Beta Mu Outstanding Band Master for the State of Kentucky.  This award is given annually at the Kentucky All-State Band concerts in the Kentucky Center for the Arts, Whitney Hall, on the first Saturday  of each February by the Professional National Band Fraternity, Phi Beta Mu. This award represents the highest level of recognition for a wind band conductor in Kentucky and is representative of a lifetime of Distinguished Achievement attained by only a very few Directors and Conductors across the nation.

February Board Meeting Notes

Tony Thomas, architect with Clotfelter-Samokar Architects, presented the preliminary renderings for the renovations at Foley Middle and Silver Creek Elementary schools at Thursday’s regular Board of Education meeting. The renderings are part of the first stages for planning and development for the renovation projects that will begin at Foley and Silver Creek in the fall.

Recycle Ink Cartridges to Help MCHS STLP

Do you own a printer and throw away your ink cartridges? Now there is a better solution. Bring your empty ink cartridges to Madison Central High School and help out the STLP Club. By doing this you will get a chance to recycle your ink cartridges and will be doing a well appreciated favor by helping the STLP Club raise money for new robotics kits. It doesn’t cost anything to donate your ink cartridges but will help the STLP immensely. Thank you for helping us out!
