Senior Pictures

Graham Photography will be returning on Tuesday, August 30 to take order for senior pictures. If you didn’t pick up your proofs, you can do so at that time. If you still need to have pictures taken, the make-up day is September 22.

SOUL & STAND Club Dues

Anyone planning to join SOUL or STAND must have their $10 dues paid Friday September 2, 2016 to Mrs. Campbell in Room 1007.

Superintendent Teen Task Force

Superintendent Teen Task Force applications are now available with Mrs. Sharp in the Guidance Office.  STTF is a group of juniors and seniors who meet 4 times during the school year to grow their leadership skills.  Applications are due to Ms. Sterrett in Guidance no later than Friday, September 9th.

College Reps at MCHS

The following colleges will have representatives at MCHS on the dates listed.  These reps will be available in the cafeteria during lunch to talk to interested students.

  • Thursday, September 15 - Eastern KY University
  • Wednesday, September 21 - University of Alabama
  • Tuesday, October 11 - Northern KY University
DC Trip Meeting

Anyone interested in going to Washington, DC for the 2017 Inauguration should stop by Mrs. Briscoe's or Mr. Presnell's room this week.  There will be a parent meeting for the trip on Thursday, September 1st at 6:00 PM in Mrs. Briscoe's room (#1008).

MCHS College Fair

For seniors only:  Approximately 35 colleges, universities, trade schools, and military branches will be in attendance to share their admissions information and answer questions you might have regarding your path after high school graduation!  Door prizes too!!

Board of Education votes to purchase land for new elementary

Today's special called meeting of the Madison County Board of Education resulted in the unanimous vote to purchase 22 acres of land on Boonesborough Road in northern Madison County to build a new elementary school. This action is pending approval from the Kentucky Department of Education.

Gist Piano Center and MCHS Partner on Piano Learning Lab

When school started this August, students at Madison Central High School benefited from a brand new Roland digital piano lab – courtesy of a new partnership between the school and Gist Piano Center. With this new Roland digital piano lab, students will be able to utilize the latest interactive software and “play-a-long” materials, which studies show can accelerate learning as much as 60 percent.

Cardinal Hill Teen Board

Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital would like to invite juniors and seniors to join the Cardinal Hill Teen Board. The Teen Board is an opportunity for area teens to become involved with the rehabilitation hospital, patients with disabilities, and see firsthand services available to the community.

MCHS junior attends HOBY

Kate Nash, a rising junior at Madison Central High School, attended the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar (HOBY) hosted at Eastern Kentucky University. More than 220 students from across the state were in attendance. She will now have the opportunity to attend the 2016 World Leadership Congress Seminar in Chicago at Loyola University. The World Leadership Congress is the largest and longest running program for student leadership. Now in its 48th year, HOBY continues to inspire students to motivate, challenge and lead. Students from all over the world will attend. Kate hopes to bring back ideas that will help others understand how important it is to be a leader in your community. 

MCS Dana Clark named Driver Trainer of the Year

Madison County Schools Head Driver Trainer Dana Clark was selected as Driver Trainer of the Year for the state of Kentucky. She received the award at the Driver Trainer Conference held in Louisville at the end of June. Dana has worked in the district’s transportation department for about 18 years.
