2016-2017 Madison Central Basketball Indians 2017 KY State Mock Trial Competition had 3 teams from Madison County Schools in the top 10.  MCHS teams came in 9th and 5th place.  MSHS cam in 3rd. JROTC 168 students went to regionals to compete in the STLP (student technology leadership Program Madison Central Band KMEA State Camps Band stops playing and he turns. 3 peat Drum Majors 2 Drum Majors 4 one tribe Drum Majors MCIgnitegreatness Madison Central Band State Champs A Record 3 Years in a Row!!! MCHS Graduation Tickets Required

Every MCHS senior will receive 12 graduation tickets for guests on May 19 during graduation practice.  Those who plan to attend the graduation ceremony on Friday evening, May 19, 2017, must have a ticket to enter Alumni Coliseum per fire marshal order.  Babies under 2 years of age who will sit in an adult lap do not need a ticket.

MCHS Senior Job Shadowing

Seniors will now Job Shadow on Thursday, May 4th.  Forms will be given out tomorrow during English class.  Extra copies can be found in Mrs. Briscoe's room, the front office, the guidance office and Gear Up.

Forms are due to Mr. Phillips (room 3002) by Wednesday, May 3rd.

2017 Madison County Technology Extravaganza Student with certificate from tech night.

April 20, 2017, students K-12 were recognized for their skills in the use of technology. The Technology Extravaganza is open to all Madison County students and projects can be completed in school and at home. MCS LPC to convene for 2nd meeting

The Madison County Schools Local Planning Committee will convene for their second meeting and second public forum. The meeting will be Monday, May 1, 2017, at 5 p.m. local time at the Madison County Board of Education (301 Highland Park Drive, Richmond). The purpose of the meeting will be to consider amending the current District Facilities Plan (DFP). At the conclusion of the meeting there will be a public forum.

Congrats to MCHS Science Olympiad Team

The MCHS science olympiad team had an amazing weekend. Our teams finished 5th and 10th out of the 24 teams from across the state!!!! Additionally:

Indians Auto Show

The MCHS Special Education Department is sponsoring an auto show on Saturday, May 6 (rainout date: Sunday, May 7) in the Health Building parking lot behind the school.  Registration will be from 8:00-10:00 AM with registration fee of $15.   Best-of-Class Awards will be given in the following categories:  Ford, GM, Mopar, Rat Rod, Bike, Student Choice, & Best of Show.  100% of the proceeds will benefit the STUDENTS of MCHS!

SENIOR Deadlines

The last day to sign up for Senior Walks is Friday, April 28th.  Please sign up before then outside of Mrs. Briscoe's room.  In addition, scholarship forms are due to Mrs. Briscoe on Friday, April 28th.

Summer Registration is for students to pay fees, pick up schedules and receive parking passes in the cafeteria on the dates above.

2017-2018 school year calendar set by the Board

The Madison County Board of Education voted to approve the calendar for the 2017-2018 school year. The school year will begin for students on Wednesday, Aug. 16, and end on Friday, May 25. The calendar includes a three-day fall break the first week of October as well as a full week of spring break the first week of April. The calendar can be viewed HERE.


SENIORS: You still have time to complete your FAFSA. Students/Parents can come to the GEAR UP (room 3110) starting April 10th, Monday-Thursday from 8am to 4pm to complete your FAFSA!

Dual Credit Classes for 2017-18

Any student who signed up to take EKU NOW!! dual credit classes next year must complete the online application for fall 2017 .  Please go to www.dualcredit.eku.edu then “How to Apply” and follow the instructions. Please make sure you are signing up for Fall 2017.  You will also need to turn in the tuition acknowledgement form, signed by your parent or guardian, to your counselor,  as soon as possible. 

The deadline to go online and apply and to return this form is May 1, 2017.   After that date, you won’t be allowed to take EKU NOW!!! Courses.

Please go ahead and take care of this so we can complete your application with EKU.

Any student needing to sign up for EKU NOW dual credit next year may come to LAB A during 5th or 6th period this Friday, March 24, 2017.


The iBELIEVE Foundation strives to provide opportunities to Appalachian youth for the development of 21st Century Skills such as leadership, communication, and problem solving. Ultimately, the ambitious goal is to increase collegiate attendance and retention in the Appalachian communities of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia….and now Kentucky!!!!  See guidance counselor for information.


Inner Space Camp

EKU Psychology department is hosting  a summer camp called Inner Space Camp. Its an opportunity for high school age students to spend a week on campus learning about different areas of psychology by attending lectures by EKU professors. See attached brochure.



Important Senior Information

Senior Awards Night is Tuesday, May 16th at 6:00 p.m. in the MCHS Auditorium.


Any Senior wishing to tryout to perform a music act at the Senior Awards ceremony must sign up outside of rooms 1008 (Briscoe), 2010 (Gray) or 3010 (Ingram) between March 27th and March 31st.  Tryouts will be held Wednesday, April 12th at 3:00 p.m. in Mrs. Gray’s room (2010).


Seniors may pick up a scholarship form for Senior Awards Night outside of room 1008.  All scholarship forms are due by Friday, April 28th to Mrs. Briscoe.  A hard copy of this form and proof of the scholarship needs to be turned in to be recognized at the Senior Awards ceremony.

Graduation Dates Set

The Madison County Board of Education set graduation dates and times for both high schools during its regular meeting on March 9. Graduation for Madison Central High School seniors will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 19. Graduation for Madison Southern High School seniors will be at noon on Saturday, May 20. Both graduation ceremonies will take place at Eastern Kentucky University's Alumni Coliseum.

2016 Graduates: Yearbooks at MCHS

2015-2016 Yearbooks for 2016 graduates are ready for pick up in the front office on weekdays, 7:30am -3:30pm. You can send someone to pick up your yearbook for you. They will have to sign for it.

2017 MCHS Yearbook

Purchase a 2017 MCHS Yearbook before March 1, 2017 for $65.  After this date, the price will increase.
