AFJROTC is not a recruiting program for the military services. There is absolutely no military commitment for students taking AFJROTC courses.

The objectives of the Air Force Junior ROTC program are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship; promote community service; instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline; and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.

To reinforce what students learn in the classroom, cadets may participate in many in-school and outside activities such as field trips to military bases, aerospace facilities and industries, museums, and civilian airports. Cadets also participate in parades, summer leadership schools, drill team competitions, orienteering, military balls, honorary academic groups, and many school and community support activities.

Air Force Junior ROTC courses consist of 40% Academics, 40% Leadership, and 20% Wellness Activities. All students must wear the official Air Force uniform at least one day each week and maintain Air Force grooming standards when wearing the uniform. Students are issued the uniform at no cost.

Students:
- may satisfy requirement for P.E. credit with Principal's approval.
- may earn college credit for completing AFJROTC courses.
- completing three years of AFJROTC will earn advanced rank and improved scholarship opportunities should they choose a military career path .
