Situation: A Chicago school has enacted a policy that requires students to pay up for misbehaviors.  They are called behavior fees.  These fees range in cost depending on the behavior, ranging from being caught with gum to cheating or fighting.  Last year, this school district raised over $200,000 from such fees.  Decision makers at your school are considering whether or not to adopt this policy.  Your teacher, who is a member of the committee that will make the decision, has asked you for your input.

Prompt: Write a letter to your teacher in which you either oppose or support this proposed policy. Be sure to include details to support your position.
