Vita for Elizabeth Pike:
I received a Bachelor of Arts from Berea College with a degree in Vocal and Instrumental Music Education, grades K - 12. I earned a Masters of Music Education and a Rank One in choral music from EKU.
I began my teaching career in Rockcastle County as the itinerant music teacher in four elementary schools. For three and a half years, I taught music while helping establish the county's elementary music curriculum. The next phase of my teaching career was with the Corbin Independent School system. It was at Corbin Middle School that I spent five years building a choral program from scratch. I directed three choirs, taught general music classes and began supervising student teachers. In 1999 I made a move to Madison Middle School, where I continue to teach choir and general music incorporating drama in all classes.
