MSHS Offering PlaySchool for Children Ages 2 - 5

The MSHS Child Services classes are excited to offer a 6 week playschool (similar to a Mother’s day out program) starting in March. Click here to access a flyer with more information. 

Children ages 2-5 years old (potty trained) can be enrolled in this program.   If you have a child that fits this description and are interested please email Mrs. Emily Alexander for a registration packet.  If you have any questions feel free to email.

Mrs. Alexander will be supervising the high school students and they will all have completed an ECE industry certification prior to starting the play school.

Silver Creek teacher named KMEA State Teacher of the Year Shannon Abney

The Kentucky Music Educators Association Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2018 is Silver Creek Elementary School's Shannon Abney.  Mrs. Abney will be recognized for this high honor at the KMEA State Conference in February in Louisville. Congratulations Shannon Abney!

Wintertime Reminders

Please keep these wintertime reminders handy as we navigate the winter months and their unpredictibility.

  • All cancellations will be announced officially by the district on this website as well as on the district's official social media sites - Facebook and Twitter. If you see a cancellation and are uncertain of its validity, please check the district's website or social media sites.
  • If the district chooses to have an NTI day (non-traditional instruction), that information will also be announced on the district's website and official social media sites.
  • Students should have received NTI packets and information from their schools. If that information has not been made available to your child, please contact his or her teacher or the school's office.
  • If the district elects to delay the start of school, that information will be announced on the district's website and official social media sites. Information about a delay can be found on the district's website under the "District Information" tab on the left side of the page.
Board approves proposed rezoning plan

Madison County Schools Board of Education approved the proposed rezoning plan to take effect in August 2018. Assistant Superintendent Randy Neeley presented the plan and then answered questions from the Board members. The plan was approved with a vote of 4-1 with the opposing vote coming from Board Member Mary Renfro. The proposed plan includes the new zone for Boonesborough Elementary and outlines the changes for other elementary schools as well as the shift for middle schools.


Schools affected include: Boonesborough Elementary, White Hall Elementary, Glenn Marshall Elementary, Kit Carson Elementary, Daniel Boone Elementary, and Kirksville Elementary; as well as B. Michael Caudill Middle, Madison Middle, and Clark-Moores Middle.
