School in session Feb. 15

In an effort to maximize face-to-face instructional time and in light of our recent inclement weather, Madison County Schools WILL BE in session on Monday, February 15.

9 MCS teachers awarded Innovation Grants

Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass (BPBG) presented a $10,000 donation to Madison County Schools to fund innovative classroom activities focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Teachers from nine different schools will share the funds from BPBG for activities to promote student-centered learning.

Kingston students host food drive to help those in need

During the holiday season, the Kingston Family Resource Center helps many families with food. The two week break in December poses a problem for some families that depend on breakfast and lunch being served to their children at school. The Richmond Church of Christ donated 40 boxes of food to the FRC this year allowing more families than ever to be served; still more food was needed.

Winter Weather Information

It's finally winter! The cold temperatures create a good time to remind parents about a few things:
1. If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, the cancellation will be found on the district's website, social media pages, and on the local news outlets. If you see a social media friend post that school has been cancelled, please check one of the official sites to confirm. Those sites can be found by clicking these links:  Facebook or Twitter.
2. The district does use a delay system on occasion. If a delay is called and you need additional information, please click HERE.
3. This year, the district has the opportunity to use Non-Traditional Instructional Days (NTI: Madison). NTI days will be announced in the same way that cancelled or delayed days are announced. If you have not received information from your child's school, please contact them as soon as possible. Additional NTI: Madison can be found HERE.

Kingston's Grand Squad

Kingston's Grand Squad is comprised of several Kindergarten grandparents that volunteer their time to read and work with our Kindergarten students on a regular basis. They are true superheroes!

Car Rider Information - Kingston Elementary

To proceed through the car rider line, you must have the Kingston issued Car Rider tag visible.

Starting tomorrow (9/15/15), if the person picking up the child does not have the issued tag:

  • They must park and wait until after 3:15
  • Come into the office for the pick-up to be approved or confirmed with the check-out card

This is for the safety of our students. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
