Farristown Named a Blue Ribbon School (opens in new window/tab)

During the 24-25 school year, Farristown Middle School went through the evaluation process for Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence (BRSE). The goal of the program is to help schools determine their strengths and their areas for improvement. They achieved this goal, earning them the title of a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School.

Recently Madison County Schools has expanded and emphasized Career and Technical Education, adding CTE classrooms at the middle school level. Clark Moores has a program that goes hand in hand, providing similar education through their thriving Family and Consumer Science class – a rare offering at the middle school level.

Now that winter has settled in, we wanted to take a few minutes to talk about how that affects our regular school days. Each year, we battle some form of inclement weather – sometimes ice or freezing rain, sometimes snow, or even extreme cold temperatures. Those weather factors and conditions can impact our traditional school days.
