• CLARK-MOORES MIDDLE SCHOOL STANDARDIZED DRESS CODE

     

    All Clark-Moores Middle school students are expected to be in compliance with all guidelines of the school dress code. The principal/assistant principal, under special circumstances, may grant temporary waivers of the dress code.  If any clothing is worn in the building that is not specifically addressed by the code, the principal/assistant principal will make the final decision as to the appropriateness of the clothing. in order for clothing items to be appropriate to wear to Clark-Moores, they must EXACTLY fit all the criteria listed below. If your apparel has something not approved in the list, you may not wear it to school.

     

    Students will be in full dress by 8:00 am in the mornings and will remain in dress code until they board the bus or enter a car in the afternoons.

     

    Shirts:

    Must fit one of the following criteria:

    1. Solid color long or short sleeved plain polo with two to four buttons (may contain a CMMS logo).  All buttons must be fastened except the top button.

    2. Solid color plain crew neck sweatshirt. (No hoodie)

    3. Any Clark-Moores crewneck t-shirt, crewneck sweatshirt,  polo, or pullover purchased through the school (No hoodies).

    4. CM Team/Club issued or purchased sweatshirts, t-shirts, and pullovers.  (No hoodies)

    5. All shirts/sweatshirts must be completely plain or have a Clark Moores logo.

    6. Upon approval by principal and announced, a t-shirt, sweatshirt, or pullover won at a conference, tourney, etc. for ONE DAY.  (No hoodies)

    Pants/skirts:

    1. Must be made of cotton/twill material in a khaki, black, or navy blue colors (no corduroy material).

    2. Must be completely plain and free of extra pockets, extra zippers, and slits with the exception of a quarter-sized logo.

    3. Must be appropriately sized and worn at the natural waistline.

    4. Must have belt loops or an elastic waist.

    5. Pants must be full length (cannot cover the entire shoe), and skirts must come below the knee.  

    Belts:

    Belts must be worn be have a  buckle no wider than the belt and no spikes.

     

    Shoes:

    All shoes must have a closed toe and closed back with one inch or less heel.

     

    ACCESSORIES:

    1. Only accessories necessary for basic hair restraint should be worn on the head or in hair.  Bandanas are not permitted. Only accessories

    2. All purses should fit on an 8x11 sheet of paper.

    3. All jewelry must be appropriate, unobtrusive and not be distracting, as determined by staff. The only exception is accessories that are awarded by the Renaissance Committee.

    4. Gauging is prohibited.

    5. Students are also prohibited from writing on self/others with permanent/ sharpie markers.

    Outerwear:

    The following outerwear is allowed to be worn in the building:

    1. Completely plain crewneck sweatshirt

    2. CMMS pullover or crewneck sweatshirt purchased through Renaissance

    3. Sports team pullover for CMMS or MCHS athletes (must be from current year)

    4. Cardigans with no logo and of a solid color may be worn.   

     

    Coats and Jackets must remain in the lockers and not be worn to class at any time.

    No hats, bandanas, or sunglasses are allowed to be worn in the building.

    *Blankets are not permitted.

     

    ALL CLOTHING:

    1. Must be in good condition with no tears, cuts, holes, or stains.

    2. Must be gender appropriate.

    3. All garments must be appropriately sized and worn in a way they were intended, i.e, no tucking of pants in socks or rolling up of shirt sleeves.

     

    **Definition of Plain – This means no decoration whatsoever including stitching, graphics, extra slits, pockets, rivets, metal embellishments, etc.

     

    **Determinations on appropriate clothing - will be decided by staff and administration. if a student comes to school out of dress code, he/she will be assigned an infraction and 1) asked to correct it immediately if possible, 2) required to change into clothing from the clothing bank, and/or 3) if clothing is not available, a parent must bring appropriate clothing before the student may attend classes.

     

    Students and parents please be aware of the following:

    Unacceptable clothing and accessories that students continue to wear or bring to school will be confiscated until the end of the year.

    Other fixable offenses also count as dress code violations and will receive the same consequences.

     

    STUDENTS WILL BE EXPECTED TO HAVE THEIR ISSUED STUDENT ID BADGES WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES.  REPLACEMENT BADGES FOR LOST OR DAMAGED CARDS CAN BE PURCHASED FOR $5.00 IN THE LIBRARY.

    STUDENTS WILL BE EXPECTED TO BE DRESSED ACCORDING TO THE DRESS CODE ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.  NEW STUDENTS WILL BE EXPECTED TO BE IN COMPLIANCE ON THEIR SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL.
